2.     Request to make arrangements to provide one  Mail van from Madurai MMS to Tirunelveli Division  in place of the one  which was sent for FC work 5 months back, since the another mail van available  at that Division is also under disrepairs and the estimates are pending with higher ups.  In these places one private Mail Van on Sivagiri Schedule is engaged at the cost about Rs 3400/- daily. In the another  route,  in the local schedule  one private van is engaged at the  cost of Rs 1900/ - per day. Since cost for the private vans are very heavy  for the past several months than that of the repairing charges and the private vans are running without covering the top which causes damages to the  mails, the mail van which is found spare at MMS, Madurai may be diverted, till such time the repairing works undertaken.

                The PMG
                Southern Region,
                Madurai.

                Madam,
Sub:  Request for restoration of two abolished postman post at Vikramasingapuram  HSG – II Office – Reg.

We are herewith enclosing the copy of the letter sent by our branch secretary- Ambasamudram –Tirunelveli Division on the Subject matter.  The contents of the letter are self explanatory and needs no further elaboration.

The  crucial point of distance travelled by post man i.e. 225 kms inspected and endorsed by two ASPO’S was not at all given consideration before abolition of the post. It is our information that only 80 kms is taken as distance travelled by postman at the time of conclusion of statistics.

Therefore our union urges upon the PMG Southern region to kindly intervene in this issue and cause necessary instruction to the concerned authorities for withdrawing the abolishing orders and restore the two post man posts immediately in the larger interest of delivery efficiency and better public service.

A line on the nature of action taken will be highly appreciated.

                                                                                                Thanking You
